I have a PrimeFilm u 35mm slide scanner that used to work with my old iMac, but not with my newer iMac, especially since I upgraded to Yosemite. Tried to use this hint with my Canoscan N U scanner. The Import menu shows the Scanner so you select it, and immediately get an error that the driver is wrong and the process will abort.
