Peter McNeill Replied on June 15, I updated to Windows 10 today from Windows 8. There is a certain class of web cam that will work correctly in desktop apps like Skype Desktop but that are not recognizable by store apps like the Camera winddows.
It just says "Video Device Not Found" or something like that. Then you can consider taking your laptop to the repair shop for a further check. Just reinstall the driver and keep the camera managing program unisntalled.

Unfortunately this is an architectural limitation in how the web cam drivers were originally built for these cameras, and there is no way around it.
If the issue persists, you might want to try the driver for Windows 7. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. My aging Lenovo B aka "slowpoke" laptop has Win 10 installed over win 7.
During installation, when you go to the Finish screen see below windoes shotensure to uncheck the box next to Install Camera Driver.
